Sneak Peek into Guanajuato

Today was my first visit to the city of Guanajuato, Mexico. I was only able to visit for a day, but I hope to return to this magical little city real soon and photograph more parts of it. It’s a photographer’s dream. Here are a few pics I just snapped while walking around with my iPod.

La Quinceañera

Yesterday I got to experience my first ever Quinceañera. Our neighbor and amiga, Maria Guadalupe Martines Peres (aka – Lupita), had her Quinceañera ceremony in the little town of Tanchachin. The festivities then moved to the pueblito known as Chical “Uno”. Here are a few pics I shot from the ceremony en la iglesia (church) de Tanchachin… ¡Felicidades Lupita!

Fusión De Color 2011

On Saturday, October 22nd a fusion of color, art, and photography took place. My good friend and fellow artist, Seitaku “Tak” Aoyama, along with his amazingly talented wife, Jaime Aoyama, and myself all collaborated and put on a night of art and photography at the beautiful Linksoul gallery of Oceanside, California. It was the second time I’ve showcased my photography at Linksoul, but the first time I had teamed up with another artist. It was a super fun night shared with friends, family, and art+photography lovers. Many thanks to the owners at Linksoul and to all who came out and supported!

Here are some pics from the event. Thanks to photographer, Robin Shook, for her services. Click here to check out some of Robin’s work.

Facing East 2010

These pics and the text below is from my photo exhibition (Facing East) at LinkSoul in Oceanside, CA back in the winter of 2010. I am now planning another photo exhibition (Fusión de Color) at the same venue on Saturday, Oct 22nd 2011. Here’s a sneak peak from last year’s event…
“It’s truly amazing to me how photography can really help bring people together and the images speak to every individual in such a unique and personal way. I had such a wonderful time putting on this event with the help of friends and family. Thanks to all who came out that night! It was a real honor being able to share the night with all of you. Thanks to John and Geoff Cunningham for allowing me to put on the event in their gallery (the beautifulLinkSoul Lab). Mucho thanks to all who helped me with organizing the event… you know who you are, you’re wonderful. Thanks to the musicians and the sweet sounds they provided. And a big thank you to Tish for her wonderful photography she took throughout the night!” -Dustin Ellison
